Summer's human won a Cat Writers Association Special Award...for an article inspired by the peach kitty. And another award for a couples photo

Every year, the Cat Writers Association has a contest. And ever since she joined (that was back in 2008), she enters some of her writing and photos. More often than not, she wins something. And she did this year. But I wasn’t the topic of the article that won.

It was this guy! The award my human won was the Kari Winters Rescue and Rehabilitation Award, sponsored by TICA (The International Cat Association). And the article was titled “Can a Feral Cat Be Tamed?” If you would like to read it, here it is.

I guess he thinks he is a big deal now.

In fact, I think he’s going a bit overboard.

This actually isn’t the first time my human has won this particular award. She also won it in 2010 for an article that appeared in the annual magazine Kittens USA about adopting a shelter kitten. Out of the CWA Special Awards, it’s even more special because it’s given in memory of a CWA member, Kari Winters. She passed away in 2009 and was a passionate animal rescue advocate, along with being an award winning writer herself.

And while the peach kitty is wallowing in his glory, I want to add that wasn’t the only award my human won this year! She also got a Muse Medallion for a photo she took of me.

Okay, actually it was me and the peach kitty! But at least he can’t take all the credit. And my human was so pleased with the photo, and the win, that she made it into a card:
